Aaron Burns has an MFA in filmmaking from Chapman University in Orange, CA. He worked in Los Angeles for the Director Morgan Neville, as an assistant on THE COOL SCHOOL (PBS documentary) and on Todd Snider music videos.
He was Assistant Editor and Copywriter on THE BATTALION, a web-based series that chronicles the real-life challenges of firefighters across the country. He served as Co-Editor on JOURNEY WITH MY MOTHER, a documentary from the late Richard Kassebaum.
Since returning to his native Colorado, Aaron has focused on short-form videos, both promotional and documentary. For his projects, he enlists the best cinematographers, sound, and post-production personnel available in the Denver/Northern Colorado region. Aaron has produced videos known for getting results through an engaging style of testimonial.
Among these, he collaborated with Paul L. Anderson Productions on a video for Disabled Resource Services titled “Spreading Hope,” which won the AvaPlatinum Award. His documentary, FULFILLMENT, won the Audience Choice Award for Best Short Documentary at the TriMedia Film Festival in Fort Collins, CO (2010).
Aaron also provides copywriting services, which he has done in commercial web and radio productions nationwide.
He has taught at the Colorado Film School (Community College of Aurora).
